  • Applying motion stabilization and motion tracking to same footage

Posted by Jim Bachalo on September 5, 2011 at 6:21 pm

    Hi
I have some footage that needs overall stabilization applied using Warp Stabilizer.
In addition I need to track some localized motion within the footage.
What are the correct steps to apply these? Do I need to also precompose between effects/ ie motion tracking-precompose-then warp stabilizer…or some variation thereof?

Best bet is probably to render out the stabilized footage and re-import it for subsequent tracking.

Alternatively, you might try stabilizing your motion, precomping it, and going from there.
