  Plugins and Masks

  Can a person do with plugins the same complicated effects that can be created with masks?

  If you’re talking about growing plants, you have to buy a seat of Maya to use its Paint Effects. PE used to be a plugin for AE, but it lived a short life and fell on its corporate sword. Pretty much. It’s long dead.

  I’m speaking of layer masks. Alpha channel, lumination, mask animation.
  If I have not communicated properly I will give more input.

  Learning how to do masking is crucial to your education as a compositor and motion graphics artist. Can’t get out of it.
