    Hi Guys:

    I am trying to solve a monitoring issue with my Blackmagic Intensity card. The HDMI out works perfectly when I connect the Intensity out port to my
    HDTV via HDMI cable (65 feet long, in fact). However, when I hook it up to my monitor (Sceptre X20G-1080P, 20.1 inches, 1680 x 1050) via a HDMI to DVI-D cable, I get nothing. If I use the same cable and connect the monitor directly to the Canon HV20’s HDMI port, it works perfectly.

    The good folk at Blackmagic said that, while HDMI normally carries both YUV and RGB, the Intensity card only outputs YUV. He also said that the DVI-D port on my monitor only handles RGB, so the two will not connect.

    Is there some kind of magic box that I can buy that will convert YUV to RGB? I just saw this (https://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=9856) and was curious about it, but perhaps something is already out there, and hopefully cheap. Thanks in advance.

    Hi:

    I was able to confirm that the HV20 does put out an RGB signal when it is hooked up to a DVI port. However, my new 24″ LCD showed the signal coming in at standard def rather than high def. On my 20 monitor, it looks to be high def. So I am not sure if it is a scaling thing or something else related to the specific monitor.

    Of course that is with a direct setup (HV20 to monitor. Whenhooked up to the Intensity card, it will only out put a YUV signal. So my new monitor has an HDMI port (as well as other types) which does match to the Intensity card’s YUV output. So that is my solution. Hope that helps.
