    Hello,
first of all sorry for my English, I’m french, so…
I would like to buy for my company a Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme card, and I see there is a RS422, so decks can be remoted.

    My question is : can I perform a INSERT EDIT in a tape, and choose the tracks ( video, A1, A2, A3 and/or A4 ).

For example, when I must work on a small part of a very long master tape ( 124mn ). I digitize this small part, and, after the work, I insert it exactly in the same timecode in the tape.

    Thanks, Bye.

Yes you can do all that – in fact you can output all 4 channels of audio at the same time with both FCP and Premiere.

Sorry I can’t answer that but I am sure the BMD guys could. I would have to guess that it would be able to going by the functionality of the software with other editing packages.

    Thanks Bazinoz,
Is there a way to reach the “BMD guys” as you said. I have looked at their site, but could only find a support for reporting problems for owners.
    Regards,
    Bernard.

    Hi Bernard,

Vegas support is still in beta. Insert is meant to be one of the features but it’s not quite ready.

If you have any general questions, you can also contact us via the support website. It’s fine even if you don’t have a DeckLink card as yet.

    regards

    Thanks for the answer, Kristian,
I will use the support website also.
The Extreme card is on command ( purchased at APY in Paris – apyweb.com ).
Will it be possible to have the beta version ?
Do you know when Vegas support will be completed ?
You have understood, I really love Vegas.
    Bye,
    Bernard.
