    Hi,

We hoped that this will be resolved in FCS2, but seems that it’s not. In our experience this is major bug or at least limitation in Soundtrack Pro:

Every time you record off Decklink Extreme Line in (we have Behringer mixers connected to the Decklinks), you cannot play back the recorded audio instantly after recording. You have to switch to FCP, then back to Soundtrack and only then it starts playing back audio.

Moreover, if you want to record another audio – you have to restart Soundtrack or at least switch input to Apple Line In and back to Decklink Line in for the audio indicators to start jumping. It remains dead if you do not do this.

This happens both in FCS1 and FCS2.

Are we doing something wrong or do not know anything?

Also, I have another problem on one of the PPC G5’s after upgrade to FCS2:
when recording audio in Soundtrack, audio gets constant clicks as if the sample rate was incorrect. It is set to 48khz stereo everywhere. Also, this happens on a single machine – another 3 are working just right. I will probably try to plug Decklink into another slot.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Darius

More on this last problem described in previous post:

It seems that 10.4.10 update on PPC systems with 6.2 (or later) Decklink driver are causing audio clicks or “audio dropped frames” when recording from analog source.
