I’ve read many posts these days about Final Cut crashing, stopping etc. and have to ask you people, which solution is better choice for you. Decklink on OSX or Decklink on Windows?

Personaly, I prefer Vegas, but from some reason (probably saving the time for XPRI) Sony didn’t put some production specific tools (or I didn’t found) in Vegas such a offline/online recapture and more than 8bit depth.

I am more the Windows person because more than 14 years of working on PC’s and spend all the time in video production, but also have no emotions for specific platform because I look at them as a tools and all time trying to find better and better.

Will you give me pros/cons of OSX/FinalCut and Windows/someEditor solution, all of that with DeckLink HD 444 card?

    Thanks,
    Alex

I have used Decklink cards with FCP and OSX for the last 3 years with ZERO problems in the last 18 months, the platform for me is rock solid and has NEVER crashed in that period.

Other peoples experience may differ but my last 18 months with FCP has been simply the most stable NLE I’ve used in the last 12 years (and I’ve used most of them!)
