  • Intensity output preview on Dell 2407WFP

Posted by Walterdr on February 8, 2007 at 3:03 pm

    Hi,
    I have a simple question.
Can I use my Dell 2407WFP as preview monitor
whit Intensity, using a HDMI/DVI cable??
And if yes, can I see only in HD resolution or in SD pal too??
I’ll lose audio but the quality will be the same, I suppose.
Thx so much and sry for my english!!

Kristian, Could you please elaborate as I was planning on doing this with the Intensity as well. I am currently using an Abit motherboard with onboard HDMI 1.2 out to a 24″ Dell monitor at 1920×1600 and it works fine. This system is however not the one that I am installing the Intensity into.

I am installing the Intensity into an Abit 680I motherboard and I was hoping to use one of the new 2407WFPs that I just purchased.

    Thanks – Joe

    Hi Joe,

    Couple of factors:

    1) Intensity outputs YUV not RGB. Your Dell or any computer monitor will expect an RGB signals via DVI-D.

    2) Intensity does not adjust the framerate of the video to what is expected by the monitor unlike the HDLink.

So what is a suggested inexpensive monitor for the Intensity?

    Thanks – Joe
