  • No audio UVW 1800 putting to tape

Okay… so, here’s the problem. In a nutshell – when I try putting a clip to tape via the DeckLink software, to my UVW1800 it doesn’t lay down any audio. When I play the clip within the DeckLink software, with the audio routed in Windows to the DeckLink, the VU meters are movin’ on the deck… but as soon as I specify a timecode on the tape, hit “put clip,” the deck switches into Edit Mode, and no more audio.

I’m assuming it’s an issue with the deck?

Same things happens within Vegas. I can crash record with audio, or manual record – but for whatever reason, as soon as I try to insert at a specific timecode, no audio.

Any thoughts? I’ve looked at menu settings on the deck, and everything seems normal…

    Thanks.

    Hi,

This is most likely a reference issue. Make sure your deck is receiving a proper reference signal. I would recommend using a sync generator but if you don’t have one, loop the Y output of the card into the VTR’s REF IN, take the loop out and send that back into your component Y input. This should provide the deck with a signal to lock to.
