Decklink freeze frames in Premiere/Source Window
We’re having a HP Workstation with 4 GB RAM, Premiere Pro 2.0 and Blackmagic Decklink Extreme (SDI).
When we capture video using the BlackMagic DV codec, the source window only play few seconds, and then it freeze (the program windows works with no problem).
If we instead works with DV without Blackmagic (software only) it all works fine, but if we then open a Blackmagic/DV project and after that, re-open the DV software only project, then it also have the problem with the source window.
So it’s not only the Blackmagic DV project that doesn’t work, it also influence on those software only projects that opens afterwards. If we re-start Premiere with the same software only project, it then works fine again.
We have deleted Premiere’s Preference, and re-install the Blackmagic driver ver. 5.7.1, tried the 5.7.0 and the 5.6.0 versions also, but it didn’t make any difference.

I’ve been having this same problem on two systems I assembled for the company I work for. Instead of the original Exreme, we put HD Extremes on these systems and they exhibit the exact same problem you describe. I emailed BMD USA support, they called me back, I described the problem thoroughly and a couple of hours later the support rep calls me and says “it’s a bug” that “it’s being investigated”. I’m getting tired of the workarounds and now I find out the new drivers don’t fix this? Uh. I don’t want my bad experiences with Matrox coming back from another company. Too much money on the line…
