Just installed a new Blackmagic HD Extreme card into my brand new Mac Pro dual 3GHz intel machine and it is not showing up in the System Profiler?

I installed the software, which shows in System Prefs under other as DeckLink and in applications there are Blackmagic Deck Control, Disc Speed Test, FrameLink and LiveKey.

I fitted card into Slot 3, but in System Profiler under PCI Cards there is only: ATY, RadeionX1900, then pci-bridge, then another pci-bridge. Both latter say slot one?

I believe the Instructions recommend slot # 4.

    Hi,

Can you please try moving the DeckLink card to slot 4, which is the top slot, and see if there is any difference? Please also ensure you have applied the Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.0. Does moving the card to slot 4 make a difference?

    Regards,

Can’t do that with this card, the internal HDs are in the way. Besides, you can configure the slots to whatever lanes you want.

So as I have 4 interlal HDs and the card will only fit in 3 is this a problem. It won’t fit in 2 either because of the ATI 1900 card in there, that blocks slot 2.

3 is the only slot it fits in.

    Ideas?

Actually, I just phoned Symbiosis in the UK (Black magic specialist) and they said the card does not show up in system profiler.

I do have the Declink controller in the System Prefs though.

I’m not sure what’s different in your setup. I have all four HD bays with drives installed and I can still put my HD Extreme card in slot four. I was worried that because there is such a small gap between the drives and the card in slot four that heat might be an issue. I was told by BMD that this isn’t an issue. In the system profile it’s listed as pci-bridge, vendor ID 0x1033, Device ID 0x0125, Revision ID 0x0003.
