Monitoring issue – not sure where to post this.
I think this forum may be my best bet for a solution to the following problem. I have a Mac Pro with a BMD HD Extreme card. Whenever I open a PDF with Preview, it opens on my video monitor, not on my computer monitor. The problem is, unless I’m editing, I don’t leave the video monitor powered on. So when I double click a PDF, it appears as if nothing has happened. But the doc does open…but it’s on my powered-off video monitor. I’ve deleted Preview’s plist. I have no idea what other setting I might be able to change to get it to default to my desktop monitor. The “Bring all to front” and “Arrange all to front” commands in Preview don’t do it. This is a minor annoyance, but I’m hoping there’s a fix. Also, Photoshop pull-down menus in the menu bar don’t expand down within my desktop monitor, they expand up into the video monitor display and are difficult to read – especially the font menu. Do all DeckLink users experience this and just work around it? I’d rather not leave the video monitor on for extended periods if I’m not editing.
Thanks,
Dan Sparks
