  Final Cut Pro Capture Problem

  Hi,
  It seems when I capture video with my BMD Multibrdge Extreme after a couple of minutes I get an error message “Tape Problem” And something about threading of my tape. Now it captures fine under non controlable device. I am using a DVC-PRO AJ-D650. I understand if there was a timecode break it would create a new clip, but this just stops recording. My only thought is that the tapes I shoot are in Nondrop from. The capture setting is at 29.97. Do you think that would be the reason for the sudden break? If so, is there a way that I can caputre using BMD at 30 fps? thanks for you help

  Hi,

  I’m not sure why that is happening but might have seen something similar before. Please go to the On timecode break pop-up menu and select Warn After Capture. Does this avoid the problem?

  BTW, lake,
  Drop-frame and non-drop timecode both use 29.97 FPS. It is only the numbering of the frames (via timecode) that is different, not the framerate.

  Kristian just reminded me of a capture issue we’ve seen in Final Cut Pro with some older Panasonic decks. Would you please email support@blackmagic-design.com as we may have a solution which will help with your model of deck.
