    Hi folks !
    I’m getting sort of a brain-lock here….
I have a couple of 1080p movies that need being converted to 1080i.
I followed the steps detailed here

    https://magazine.creativecow.net/article/interlacing-progressive-footage

so I have my 25fps footage with doubled frames, conform it to 50fps, import it to a 50fps comp and make a 25fps upper frame first render….

but then I have a weird result, my output footage is progressive all the way to the middle of the file and then I get the interlace effect I’m after….

This is driving me f*****g MAD :/

[xavier loebl] “so I have my 25fps footage with doubled frames”

You don’t want doubled frames — you want motion estimation to calculate new frames in between the existing ones.

Use Time Remapping (making sure that Layer > Frame Blending > Pixel Motion on), Timewarp, or Twixtor to create a slo-mo version of your clip that runs at 50% of the speed of the original.
