We are getting consistent crashes when trying to load still images (not too large but larger than NTSC screen size) into the Viewer. This is on Dual 2Ghz G5s running Extreme SD PCI-X cards with the following software:

    FCP 5.1.1
    QT 7.1.2
    OS 10.4.7
    BMD 5.7b1

Downgrades to 5.6.2 drivers alleviate the issue.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks. I think we should have a fix for this very soon as we’ve managed to replicate this.

    Matt,
Have you found a work-around to this problem? And is it only with specific types of stills, or is it all still images? I’m just starting a project and it will require the use of still images supplied by the client.

    Thanks,

The fix currently is to downgrade (via uninstall and reinstall) of 5.6.2 drivers.

    Cheers,
    Matt

Will those 5.6.2 drivers work with my Mac Pro?

Unforunately the 5.7 beta drivers are the minimum for Mac Pros. BMD is aware of the issue. Make sure Kristian knows of your fate.

I’ve been in touch with Kristian. They’re working on it. Thanks for getting back to me.
