FINALLY got around to getting an HD monitor to go with my MBE. Went with the Sony consumer CRT model (34XBR970). I have the MBE going through the DVI-D output to the HDMI adapter, to HDMI cable to HDMI port on the monitor. HD looks PHENOMENAL. SD looks decent, but I am getting reversed fields when I playback. The playback on my SD monitor (Sony 20L5 via component) is perfect (Blackmagic NTSC DV easy setup)

I am going to troubleshoot later today, but I have a client coming in soon and I was wondering if there was a quick fix?

    Also:

DVI-D-> HDMI cable exhibits the same problem

Composite output is fine. Will check component later

I would prefer to use the DVI-D port for this monitor for all uses if possible

Well, it seems that the problem only exists over the DVI-D port, and only with DV (720×480) footage. When I drop the footage in a 720×486 seq, all plays back fine after render. So, it seems that the DVI-D output does not adjust for the missing 6 lines properly.

BMD, anything that can be done about this with a software upgrade?

Just to sum up the problem, the field order is wrong when playing back DV-NTSC material through the DVI-D output on the MBE. Thanks

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for the report. We’ll look into it. As I recall, you’re on a Mac right?

    Hi Adam,

We’ve tested this with the latest driver and it’s fine. May I suggest upgrading to that driver (v5.6.1) which you can find on our site here:
