I’m sorry for reposting but I can’t solve this.

    I work on Mac G5 Quad + FCP+Multibridge Extreme+Sony UVW-1800p.

I had a problem with ref video which I solved with “Y looped trough ref in” trick. Do I still need blackburst generator? Soon I’ll get Digibeta deck, will I need it then?

The other problem is that I can’t get video signal from FCP to Beta deck. I can’t find a problem… On a monitor (connected to Beta deck) I have a desktop background from computer, so I guess the video signal is OK, but I can’t get video or audio from FCP. And when I try to “Edit to tape” from FCP I get video out, but it looks like a “Purple haze” or rather “purple noise”. I’ve never seen anything like that.
    Any ideas? Anyone?

One more question: what is NTSC/PAL REF IN on Multibridge for?

    tnx
    Miro

If you’ll have digibeta you definitely want a blackburst generator.

NTSC/PAL REF IN is where the black burst goes in.

Also composite video goes in as well.

I have my black burst normaled to the REF IN and when I used a cable
on the patch bay from a composite deck it shuts off the black burst
connection and puts the compoiste video in. works great.

I’d email black magic support directly for your other problems.

the purple haze you are getting could be due to having 444 out enabled in blackmagic preferences…

Unfortunately that’s not it. I’ve tried every setting available in blackmagic preferences but nothing helps. Someone told me that it could be that I have enabled component out instead of composite, but I don’t have that option in preferences. There’s only ‘All outputs active’.
