Hi I am trying to research the decklink cards. I am thinking about the Multibridge extreme. I understand it uses a blackmagic codec when capturing. Most of my clients currently have built up a library of dv, and some hdv clips to be used in future projects. If I import these other formats into a timeline how long does it take to render clips… example maybe a series of 5 second clips, a series with some transparencies and motion. I currently have built a system with dual 280 opterons and am currious how close to real time will it work with the decklink cards and non native file formats.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

We handle DV so you will not need to render them when used in either 8 or 10 bit timelines in Premiere Pro. Unfortunately, I do not have the tmes it will require to render if you work with HDV clips.
