  dfx livekey n stuff

  Hello,
  I just bought and installed a decklink extreme PCIe on a dualcore G5. Everything seems to be working fine but there are a few things I can’t figure out.

  1- How does Framelink work?
  2- How do I output photoshop to my client monitor through the decklink card? (also for combustion).
  3- How does livekey work and can it be used in conjunction with final cut pro (i.e if I have graphics that I want to key over a timeline can i do it using livekey?)?

  I tried using “help” for livekey and famelink but I get a message saying there is “no help available” for them. Is this normal or did I miss something in the installation?

  You drop an uncompressed Quicktime movie into the application icon, it mounts a virtual disk image with the individual frames as DPX files.

  You double click the application, it prompts you for a Quicktime format which is then mounted as a virtual disk image on your desktop. You drop DPX files into the disk image and a corresponding Quicktime movie on the desktop gets updated.

  File > Export > Blackmagic Image Export

  Hold down the option key while selecting the option in the menu if you want to change format.

  You key over a live video going into the DeckLink card’s input. The output of the card has the video + the image you’re keying combined.
