  • No Audio while previewing a tape

Using Extreme in SD format I am capturing in Premiere Pro 1.5 from a Sony J-3 deck via SDI input for Video & Balanced XLR for Audio. The result is an AVI file with great picture quality and stereo audio.
My problem is that while i am previewing my tape (before i even press the capture button) i have NO sound at all. That is a major problem cause i cannot find the exact points i want to capture.
I have tried all the possible combinations in Premiere & the Deck Control i knew, but no result. The SPDIF & XLR audio outputs the Extreme has, has nothing to do with the preview during playback.Right?

I am almost 99% sure that there is something in the software settings but i cannot find what.

Please tell me if there is another way to accomplice that.

    Thanx In Advance

    Hi,

Can you check the DeckLink control panel and ensure that “Black Video Output to Deck in Capture” is disabled?

    regards

Hi Kristian and thanx for ur answer.
I did that and is working. BUT, correct me if i am doing something wrong here, i took the 2 XLR audio output of Decklink and send them to the Line IN of my pc so i could preview through my PC Speakers.
The problem is that i listen to audio but with a lot of noise (HISSS).
Am i doing something wrong? What is the correct connection for listening from PC Speakers?

    Thanx.
