  I’m trying to digitize video from a Beta Deck into Final Cut Pro. Apparently some settings are wrong, but I can’t figure out which.

  I have the Beta deck SDI video OUT into the Blackmagic Decklink HD Pro SDI video IN.

  I am on a 2.5 dual G5, running OS X3.9
  My Blackmagic settings in System Prefs are
  Output: Analog Y, B-Y, R-Y
  Input: Digital SDI

  HDTV Up/Down Converter: OFF

  Output: On Analog Out

  In Final Cut Pro, I’ve tried the Easy Settings of Blackmagic NTSC 10 bit and also Blackmagic NTSC JPEG. I’d prefer JPEG because I’m trying to digitize clips that will go to someone who does not have a Blackmagic card.
  I’ve refreshed the AV Devices with no luck.
  When I got to “Video Playback” it has Blackmagic NTSC 10bit checked, no matter what the easy setup settings are.

  The capture settings preview screen is black and says “No video input.”

  I also cannot get the Blackmagic DeckControl application to see the deck either.
  It’s preferences won’t even allow me to change any settings at all for some reason.

  I have digitized DV before, but not from a beta deck.
  I need to digitize also from an HD deck after I get this to work.
  My Decklink card works. I typically have it set up to preview video.

  I’ve hooked the deck directly to the monitor and can see video, so I know it isn’t a deck issue.

  Any ideas?
  This should be a simple process….but for some reason, nothing can ever be simple.

  I got the HD deck to work with Final Cut.
  I’m assuming that I need a converter to digitize from a Beta deck to the HD Decklink card.

  I would think that your beta deck has only component/composite out and its misslabeled in this case you would need something to convert component to sdi
