  • Letterboxing the Analog output from a decklink

    Hi,

This may seem like a simple question, but I have never had to figure this out before.

I am working with FCP 5 on a G5 with a Decklink card (SDI I/O, Analog Output), and for the first time in a very long time, am stuck working with a 4:3 preview monitor that is not capable of handling an anamorphic signal. Is there some way of getting the Decklink card to letterbox the SD output? I can see the options for letterboxing on the HD to SD conversion, but not for the SD output.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated as watching an anamorphic output natively is starting to send me sideways.

    Cheers

    Alister

just use clipProperties->motion->distort -33 and when you are done editing and need to master to 16×9 format then remove attributes / little workaraound
