I only have access to the simple controls under system preferences of my Mac to affect the video coming in (which does look that great). The controls under the log and capture of FCP are grayed out. Isn’t there a better way?

I read one post that said they adjusted their proc amp (I guess that’s what it was) to 1.69 gain to get it right. My controls don’t seem to offer that kind of precise control.

I also don’t have the option of going out SDI on the system preferences panel – I have it coming in as an option but not going out. Any ideas on what the problem is?

    Thanks for your help

Under the Blackmagic Decklink controls in System Settings you should have a Proc Amp tab that will allow you to adjust Video Gain and Chroma Gain for your analog inputs on the BMD Extreme card. They are adjustable to 0.01 accuracy.

The Blackmagic Decklink Extreme card will always output on both SDI and analog outputs, therefore the only option you have under Outputs is between Analog Composite or Analog Component. In composite mode it will output a PAL or NTSC signal on the Y connector, in component mode it will output Y, R-Y and B-Y on the respective connectors. SDI out will always be active regardless of the analog choices.

    Hope that helps some,

    Geir.
