  Faulty Capture using grab frame feature in Deck Control

  Running 10.4.2, QT 7.01, Decklink Extreme 5.0, Dual 2.3Ghz, 4GB RAM

  These systems are being used in an art department and are therefore not running FCP. Using the grab frame feature (would love to see a keystroke command for this) I try to capture 5 times in a row – on the third try I actually get a .psd file of my SDI input video from a Panasonic AJ-D450.

  For the rest of the time I capture a black frame. Not the frame with the “no video input” on it – just a black frame. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling – no joy.

  Any ideas?

  Hi Wrangler,

  I’m not sure why you are having this problem. If you have Photoshop 7 or CS installed, please try using the Blackmagic Photoshop plug-in and you can find the details in the support note Capturing Still Images in Adobe Photoshop. Does this work or does it encounter the same problem?

  It sounds as though there might be a reference problem and it would be worth reviewing the support note How to sync a deck with a DeckLink card as I think this might solve your problem.

  Luke,

  Capturing through Photoshop plug in works every time – however image is shifted left and up resulting in a black border around right and bottom sides. When the capture through Frame Grab in Deck control works – no black borders.
