  Blackmagic Codec and Premeire Pro 1.5

  Hello, I purchased Premiere Pro 1.5 and Installed the latest blackmagic codecs from decklink.com,what I am doing is using After Effects 6.5 and rendering out blackmagic 10bit uncompressed motion graphics.
  (i.e. Quicktime Pro 7>Blackmagic 10bit>29.97fps>No Audio> No Streaming> ) I then play back the files using quicktime and they work great. The Momment I start a New project in premiere pro 1.5 (a black magic 10bit project) and I import the files and drop them into the timeline and or the source viewer the files will not play, not even for a few secs then drop frams, im talking about the play head does not even move. I do not have the decklink card installed just the codec, in final cut pro 4.5, Hd and 5.0 you dont need to have the card installed to render out graphics and import them into final cut and edit them, you just need the codec unless I want to capture video of course. I was wondering if I do buy a declkink card ( Decklink SD ) and Install it, will it then play back the footage even though I am not capturing from it at all, and I am just rendering out graphics from A.E. 6.5. to edit in PPRO 1.5? Please help, I have invested a lot of time and money into this system and a working system would be nice 🙂

  If I open a dv project it runs SOOOOOOTH but who the hell likes dv!?
  That is not Pro quality at all! I love the blackmagic codec and the quality it gives and would like to continue it on a PC and not just a mac.

  MOTHERBOARD: ABIT VT7 V2.0 800MHz DDR400
  SYSTEM DRIVE: 10,000 RPM 36GIG WESTERN DIGITAL SATA150.
  CAPTURE DRIVE: 72,000 RPM 200GIG WESTERN DIGITAL SATA150.

  WORKFLOW: ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS 6.5 > QUICKTIME 7 > ADOBE PREMIERE PRO 1.5

  Hi Luis,

  I wonder if your problem is that you are using QuickTime 7 on Mac and QuickTime 6.5 on Windows? If one of your Mac systems is running QuickTime 6.5.2, please try using that to create your QuickTime movie as the latest version of QuickTime on Windows is still v6.5 and I’m not sure what effect QuickTime 7.0 for Mac might have on movies destined for use in Premiere Pro for Windows.

  Hey Luke, thanks for taking the time to read my long post 🙂

  Actually I have quicktime 7 on windows xp already, also I am not using a mac to make the graphics, I was just saying that on my mac it does not happen with a.e. 6.5, quicktime and fcp, but on my pc using
  a.e. 6.5, quicktime 7 and premiere pro it does not play back at all, makes me sad 🙁

  I will try to switch to Q.T. 6.5 and Ill post the results, but should it play back in premiere pro with out the card and just the codec? or is that a no go?
