  • Sony BVW 40P and Decklink SP ? would this work?

Posted by Olivier Jean on April 10, 2005 at 10:27 pm

    Hi guys,

would you know if the ancient Sony BVW 40P
would work with a Decklinp SP System??

Info on this deck is scarse,
it has rs422 deck control but the component input/output is via a
    circular 12-pin connector and
not the familiar triple of BNC connectors.

is there any adaptor out there to convert the output
    to bnc??

thx for any kind of info.

    Regards

You could capture via the composite BNC if nothing else. The decklink should control the machine as it’s standard “BVU-800” protocol VTR. There are breakout cables kicking about here in the US, but you could build yourself as the standard betacam components Y: 1.0Vp-p, 75 ohms sync negative R-Y: 0.7Vp-p, 75 ohms B-Y: 0.7Vp-p, 75 ohms are present on the pinouts – just wire these to BNCs and it should work.
