    Hi
Rely heavily on PPro-AE dynamic linking for my editing and CC workflow. I do ALL of my CC and grading in AE.
Came across Andrew Kramer’s wonderful ‘Trim & Compose’ script over on videocopilot. It trims your footage in AE and then creates precomps of each footage item.

But can someone tell me what advantages, if any, there are for using precomps in this manner?
Does it make applying effects more flexible?

Yes, it’s more for effects shots. Although, if your shots are very different in tone and you need to color correct them individually before you color grade, it could help too.
