Hello, Im working on a spot for a snowblower right now. I need to make a 3d arrow that comes directly from behind camera and goes into the snowblower and then bends upwards to go through the hole. I have particular and I dont have a problem making a solid particle that follows the path I want. Where Im running in to problems is the arrow head. I cant figure out how to make a 3d arrow head that will move the way that particle does and stay attached to it. Any ideas?

    Thank you,

    Bobby D

If that fails, you could go with Zaxwerks plugins. Serpentine might get the path you want and 3d Invigerator can get you the arrow you want.

I think Michel’s suggestion will work best- Sepentine will give you the arrow head as well.

If it’s not too late, I made an arrow using Particular. It’s not the prettiest thing, but could save you from having to buy a plugin.

    Here is the project file…

Thank you Bill and thank you to all other suggestions. This is very close to what I was looking for. I’ll take a look at the project file later on tonight.

    Thank you very much!

Bill, what you provided is awesome. After looking through your project file and examining the way you approached this, I am still a little confused on how you made the actual arrowhead. I am new to particular and maybe its something obvious that I am over looking but I can’t seem to find out how to make the front of the arrow. Hope you can guide me just a little bit more.

    Thank you,

To make the arrowhead, I changed the particle size. To adjust the head, look at the keyframes for the size of the particle.
