  Removing a dead pixel

  I recently found that my canon 5dmark II has a dead/hot pixel.
  I didn’t notice it until I began reviewing some footage, where it is quite noticeable on quite a bit of the footage when the iso was up.
  The footage is rather important and not something I can just re-shoot.

  What would be the most efficient method in AE to remove the pixal?

  I thought I read somewhere about a method that will automatically fill in the pixel based on the surrounding pixels?

  A few ways spring to mind:

  You could use the CC Wire Removal effect.

  Or you could adapt this technique:

  Or you could use the Clone Stamp tool.

  Or you can poke a hole through your layer using a mask, comp it on top of itself and shift 1-2 pixels (the direction depends on the shapes in the footage)
