  • Problem with Aspect Ratio (1080p30)

My footage is encoded as DVCPRO HD 1080p30. When I import my clips into AE, the aspect ratio is distorted, despite having set my composition settings to match my footage — including my pixel aspect ratio to DVCPRO HD 1080 (1.5). Can anyone help me get my proper aspect ratio happening? Not sure what Im overlooking here.

Note: Importing and exporting the same clip in FCP, with the same settings, does not create any problem!

Is the “Toggle Pixel Aspect Ratio” clicked on? It is the icon located at the bottom of the comp screen next to the “view” layout drop down menu.

Yes. I have tried exporting the file and toggling the aspect ratio button doesn’t appear to do anything for the output.

Have you checked both the pixel aspect ratio for the comp and for the way AE interprets your footage?
