  Best way to add time to composition?

  Hey!

  two very “novice” questions but I am stuck here:

  How to add time to an exiting compostion without expanding the duration of layers?

  Other question: is it possible to set the “original duration” of a layer after adding an object to a composition, opposed to use “stretch factor” option?

  1. Go to Composition settings and change the duration of the comp.

  2. If it’s a solid, you can change the duration in the solid settings. If it’s imported footage, you can’t extend what frames aren’t there without time stretching.
