  One More FAR / PAR Question

  When it rains, it pours.

  I just got a new project that is mixing NTSC DV 720 x 480 (.91) with NTSC widescreen 720 x 480 (1.2). I need to output this back as NTSC DV 720 x 480 (.91).

  So I am inclined to put this onto a NTSC DV 720 x 480 (.91) composition, but I am confused about what I need to do about the widescreen footage. If I interpret to .91, it shrinks the pixels’ width as to fit all pixel data into the 4:3 field, which is clearly not right – it’s smooshed to fit and no longer widescreen.

  Do I need to interpret the widscreen footage, or just use it as is?

  Use the widescreen footage as is (with widescreen par). That will obviously cut out the sides of your 16:9 frame. You may want to re-frame those shots to make sure that you get what you need in the frame.
