  Is it possible to animate pivot point?

  Is it possible in AE to animate the pivot point of a solid? The pan behind tool only lets you change the pivot position but there is no option to animate it.
  Btw I am aware of the anchor point method but I find that too irritating as it changes the position of the entire solid while the anchor point remains in the same location. This can be very difficult in between another animation as then i have to bring the solid back to its original position according to the new anchor point.

  The pivot point is the anchor point. That’s actually the definition of the anchor point: the point around which transformations occur for the layer. Animating the pivot point of a layer means animating the Anchor Point property. You can also animate the Position property if you want to compensate for the anchor point animation to keep the layer within the same bounds.

  oh ok….thanks todd.
  I didnt know the pan behind tool also compensates the position in relation to the anchor point to make the object appear at the same location.
