Macbook Pro w/ external monitor native resolution disappeared
Hi all,
I’m wondering if anyone can help with an issue related to an external monitor I’m using with my Macbook Pro?
My video display on my Macbook does not work, and the apple tech suggested connecting to an external monitor–Samsung 39cm (1366×768, 16:9) Wide LED Monitor, series 1 SA100.
I’m able to connect and view everything on the external monitor without issue except for the fact that I can’t select the display of 1280×800 for the external monitor. I need to be able to select this display in order to edit in Final Cut Pro. When I open Final Cut Pro now, it says “FCP recommends a screen resolution of 1280×800.”
When I open the display under System Preferences, two windows open: C Color LCD and SMS16A100.
In the Color LCD window, I can select 1280×800 (the highest I can select is 1680×1050).
However in the SMS16A100 window, I can select from the following:
640×480
800×600
848×480
1024×768
1280×720
1360×768There is no option for the 1280×800.
Does this mean I’m unable to configure this monitor to edit with Final Cut Pro?Any advise would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for any
suggestions!
Cheers,
