I am thinking of purchasing a Dell 20″ widescreen to hook up to my aged PPC G5.
Being profoundly ignorant of hardware connectivity issues they tell me the interface is “Analogue/DVI-D (digital) with HDCP”. Will this plug and play on my Mac without any adaptors?

The budget simply doesn’t allow for an Apple Cinema monitor at more than three times the price so please don’t suggest that option.

BTW I live in New Zealand

it should but it all depends on your video card.

Is this going to be the only display or a second.

Some video cards on G5’s had one DVI and one ADB, and some video cards have 2 DVI ports.

This monitor will work perfectly. I have Dells on all our macs including an old Dual 1 gig G4 and three G5s as well as a media center PC. All Dells….I run the 20 inch widescreen and a 17″ 4×3 on all of them. This dual monitor setup is the best balance of desktop space and value….they have all the connectors and look great.
