  Clean-up for sale help

  Hi,
  I’ll be selling my 10.4.9 MBP.
  I can’t work out how to clean the HD and reinstall the OS to allow for the new users to have a “clean start”

  Also, will copying the “System.keychain and Login.keychain” transfer my keychains to the new comp?
  Will the new one have exactly the same password to access keychains?

  Is there a set-by-step somewhere, I tried Apple, but can’t find an article.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Boot from the install disk and select erase and install.

  When you start the new computer it will ask if you want to transfer data from a different mac, just follow the instructions and it will copy everything to the new computer.

  Thank you,
  The problem is that I will have the new computer after the “old” one is gone.
  I have backups of (I think…) everything on an external Maxtor drive and I am hoping to restore the lot to the new machine.
