    issue 1:
So, I’ve got a complex 3D light rig made up of a light ball and metal truss in one comp that I’m trying to plant on top of a building in another comp.

When I drop the light comp into the comp with the building, I make it a 3D layer and hit the ‘continuously rasterize’ switch.

From this point, it seems like the truss and light ball are in different 3D planes or something and I can’t seem to match them up.

    issue 2:
I’ve tracked the motion of the footage and applied all of the tracking data to a null object. It works for everything within the comp, except for the 3D light ball comp…I imagine because it’s 3D. What do I need to do to be able to successfully track the 3D comp into my shot?

    Thanks,
    Malcolm

Post a few stills- it always helps to get answers faster. From what I understand now, it seems that you do not need to turn the light ball comp and make it 3D.
