  • Is there Tiger and ILife upgrade on new system with older OS and Apps?

    Hello Guys,
I am looking at a new G5 that doesn’t have Tiger or the newer version of ILife on it currently. It has been sitting on the shelf since before these upgrades were released. Since this is technically a new machine I was wondering if Apple had a policy of a free upgrade for the OS and ILife. Does anybody have any info about this? Thanks in advance!

If you’re buying an old machine from Apple then they often include all of that, yes.

But if you’re buying it from somewhere else then I doubt they would. How could they know that no one has been using the computer all this time? As far as they know it’s the same as any other Mac they sold last year.

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your response. I am buying this from an Apple authorized dealer and I know I could supply my receipt after I buy it. I am planning to uy Apple Care to make sure I have some protection since the model is a store display. I was just hoping that with the purchase of a new Apple Care contract they would know for sure that it was a new purchase.
    Thanks for you help,
    Gary
