I exported a quicktime from FCP with res of 720×480 anamorphic. When I bring it into AE, the image is squeezed. The comp is 720×480, but the image looks skinny. None of the presets or pixel aspect ration pulldowns seem to fix the image. If I select the widescreen preset, the comp size remains the same but the image is squeezed even more. The only thing that sort of works is if I make the width of the comp 853, and manually enlarge the width of the image. But that’s cheating, and the width scale value is not at 100% (but at 118.5%), which will be a drag later if I need to do scale modifications. Can someone help? Thanks.

Have you clicked the pixel aspect ratio correction button? It’s located below the comp viewer, and looks like this:

Your previews may look a little jagged with PAR correction on, but your renders will be fine.
