  • Canon 1D C digital issues – hits on 4K footage

I’m editing a commercial that was shot on the Canon 1D C which records 4K to a Photo JPEG format. I’m getting digital hits all over the footage. I am working on a:

    Mac Pro
    3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xenon E5
    32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC
The media is stored on a Thunderbolt Pegasus R6 Raid

I have tried using Adobe Media Encoder to convert the clips to Pro Res 422 HQ at full resolution, I’ve tried converting the clips to Pro Res 422 HQ at 1080X1920. The hits remain

I’ve tried the same conversions (and more) in Apple Compressor, and the conversion fails every time.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with this camera? Any ideas for where to look for solutions?

    Thanks,
    Bryndon Smith
