  I know that alot of flash type cameras have varying video file formats.

  My question is this, will this camera work with iMovie 11 and Final Cut Pro natively or will there be some sort of file conversion necessary to be able to edit the media?

  I will be using these in a high school journalism setting and trying to get the best bang for buck without spending $3500 per camera.
