  Canon has advised new Firmware has been posted on their web site for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II Firmware No. 2.0.4

  Can anyone tell me if this must be installed after the first buggy firmware, or can it be installed right over the factory firmware? (Is it a patch or a full package?)

  (In other words I did not install the first release yet, so how do I proceed?)

  It will tell you what is in the camera, just click upgrade 2.0.4 in the right hand side window after you have clicked on the tools icon.

  ie., Follow Canon Instructions you cannot go wrong.

  I installed it right on top of factory 1.1 and it works just fine.
