  Sigma 50-500mm lens for 5D Mark II

  Recently, my Canon 28-300 L IS USM lens fell onto the highway from the back of my moving vehicle-don’t ask. The protective filter shattered, the lens seems to be in working order, yet I still don’t trust it completely. While I decide whether I need to repair or replace it, I am considering purchasing the Sigma 50-500 lens. Does anyone know how it fares with the 5D Mark II body-or whether it’s a worthwhile lens altogether?? I do have the Canon 24-105 L IS USM to cover my wide angle needs for now. Any feedback on the Sigma would be wonderful. Thanks so much!! -Tami
