I was excited to get my 7D this week. Took it on my first production shoot. It overheated 4 times in an 8 hour period. I was only outside on the beach for 2 hours. Yes it was a hot Florida day, but it was really not that bad. I hope canon has a fix for this.

Brent…this is a known issue…it seems to occur more when shooting 720p60…workarounds include shielding camera from the direct sun,
powering down when possible(changing locations, etc), not a great situation for you in florida…i have not had any problems as of yet…
but i haven’t left the camera powered up in the fla heat for an extended
period…not what you want to hear i’m sure….
