  EOS–Error 01, Error 99

  I have an EOS Rebel (6-7 years old or so). I get intermittently Error 01 or Error 99 (usually every time I use the camera for more than one or two shots). I turn the camera off. Or take the battery out. Or remove lens and clean off terminals. And sometimes the error message goes away. Or not. It does not respond consistently or predictably to any of these things.

  Help?
