Image from XL-1S not full frame
Hi,
My company has a Canon XL-1S. We have also used other DV cameras like the Panasonic DVX-100.
I shot standard definition 4:3 footage on both the XL-1S and the DVX, and then captured to Final Cut Pro through firewire (using the same Sony deck).
I notice that the footage shot with the DVX fills the whole viewer screen. However, for the footage shot with the XL-1S, there is what appears to be one scan line? of black along the top edge of the image, half a scan line of black along the right bottom edge of the image, and black along the left edge of the image.
The difference is very subtle, and if you are watching the XL-1’s footage alone, you probably will not notice anything wrong. It is only when the footage from the 2 cameras are intercut is the difference noticable, and one can tell that there is a black edge around the footage from the XL-1S.
Would anyone know if this is something inherent in the XL-1S or is it just our particular camera that has a problem?
Thanks.
SK
