    Hi,

I recently shot a short film with the Canon XL/H1 in HDV 1080p24 and edited it in FCP with the standart preset for that format. So now I would like to create a DigiBeta (NTSC) of the movie.

I understand that I have to convert the 24p footage through a 3:2 pulldown to NTSC, right? I know that a program like DV File Maker does that conversion. However, is there any other way to do it, e.g. inside FCP or with AE?

I have to go to a post-house for the digital cut to DigiBeta anyway. Is it possible to the conversion on the fly from the 24p timeline in FCP to the DigiBeta recorder? That would be great. If so, do you guys know a post-house that offers such a service. I am living in Germany but I would be happy for any recommendation, also a post-house in the USA.

Thanks so much for your help.

    Carsten.

I think the AJA Kona LH will allow you to downconvert to Standard Def and output over Component BNC outputs.
