Hi guys could you tell me how this is going? I have two cameras an Xl1 and an Xl1s (just bought). The XL is very dark when compared to the XL1s. The xl1s is bright but has lots of grain. The difference is drastic. We have shot with this combination before and had to adjust the iris by two clicks 1.8 for the XL and 3.4 for the XL1s. But with this new camera we have the XL1 wide open at 1.6 and the Xl1s at 6.4! Why is my Xl suddenly so dark? The picture is still good but we have to light the heck out of it. The XL1s was supposed to be almost new. Is it normally this grainy? Also, I am now burning my raw footage to disk. Would you recommend imoprting from the disk instead of putting the stress on the source tape? Will the import of the disk be as sharp? Will I have all the final cut edit abilities as from tape?
