    I have a huge problem with my XL1. All my establishing shots look out of focus. Even if I zoom all the way in on a subject to manualy focus, then zoom back out, it dont do honor to the camera potential.

    I just changed my prysm assembly (Canon did it) but still the same.

    Honestly, I’d suggest using the Canon 16X Manual/Servo XL lens instead of the lens you are currently using with your XL1.

    Better yet, offload your older XL1 for the new XH A1. You will be quite pleased with the new “Instant AutoFocus” Technology of the XH camcorder 20X lens – it is super fast and quite accurate.
