  Loss of quality

  Just wondering if anyone can help?

  I have a quicktime movie from Final Cut which i have imported into AE. It previews perfectly, however when i create a new comp with it it drops in quality. This is particuarly noticable with white text that is over the top of images.

  Any ideas why?

  the new comp is probaly in low resolution
  change it in full View > Resolution > Full (or Ctrl+J)

  Make sure your resolutions and aspect ratio’s match.

  Also, make sure your interpreting your alpha channel correctly if your doing an overlay,

  Cheers for your ideas guys however im pretty sure i have it all okay.. and it’s in full quality.. any other possibles??

  Remember that AE doesn’t render fields, only frames, when creating on screen previews/RAM previews. If your incoming footage has fields interpreted, AE will only ever display 1 of the 2 fields on your computer monitor, making it look like lower resolution. You can get around it by temporarily turning OFF field interpretation while you do design work, but be sure to turn it back on before rendering if you are going to render fields.
