Hi, I’m creating the top of a treasure chest with wood panels, I’ve precomped all the wood panels and then made them 3D layers in a new comp and arranged and rotated them to form the arching top of the chest.

Now it appears the layer order is affecting how the layers are displaying, but to my knowledge, 3D layers aren’t affected by layer order unless there is a 2D layer dividing them. The top of the chest will not display properly, all the panels are messed up and out of sorts, I’ve double checked all my layers are arranged and positioned properly. Am I doing something wrong? I’ve built pretty complex 3D objects in AE before and have never had this problem.

    Thanks in advance!

Weird. How does it look in ortho views?

Here are the details of what causes 3D layers to exhibit the behavior you’re seeing.
